2020 would have been our 14th year of putting a weekend of great music and events together – and we did just that, even though we had to move online!
We began in 2007, as Derby Traditional Music & Arts Festival, changing the name to Derby Folk Festival in 2010. We’ve been bringing amazing artists to the city since the very beginning!
We started out in the Assembly Rooms, expanding to include The Guildhall Theatre with some fantastic shows. Following the Assembly Rooms’ fire in 2014, we moved into a marquee on the Market Place, and beyond! We’ve had concerts in The Old Bell Hotel, Derby Cathedral, and were planning shows in QUAD for 2020.
With the effects of the Covid-19 Lockdown, we’ve taken the decision to cancel the physical festival this year – however, we’re delighted to present DERBY FOLK FESTIVAL : AT HOME
There are four sessions, each featuring concerts from three artists, alongside lots of additional content – and we can guarantee a great time, with a warm welcome, as usual… We’d love you to join us.
