Welcome to the 17th edition of Derby Folk Festival – albeit in a slightly different format !
We began in 2007, as Derby Traditional Music & Arts Festival, changing the name to Derby Folk Festival in 2010. We’ve been bringing amazing artists to the city since the very beginning!
We started out in the Assembly Rooms, expanding to include The Guildhall Theatre with some fantastic shows. Following the Assembly Rooms’ fire in 2014, we moved into a marquee on the Market Place, and beyond! We’ve had concerts in The Old Bell Hotel, Derby Cathedral, and in various city centre locations.
We’ve had full and fantastic festivals, a festival weekender, an “At Home” version in lockdown, another as part of the Derby Market Place project – and this year we need to re-group and look at plans for the future (but we’ll still be having a lot of fun in The Old Bell Hotel and Cathedral Quarter!
Derby Folk Weekend is a partnership between Bob On Arts, FOLK3D and Furthest From The Sea. It is supported by Derby LIVE, and sponsored by Cathedral Quarter Derby. Our media sponsor is RNR Magazine
