Welcome to the 2024 edition of what we still refer to as Derby Folk Festival – albeit in a slightly different format, hence the “Derby Folk Weekend” name !

We began in 2007, as Derby Traditional Music & Arts Festival, changing the name to Derby Folk Festival in 2010. We’ve been bringing amazing artists to the city since the very beginning!

We started out in the Assembly Rooms, expanding to include The Guildhall Theatre with some fantastic shows. Following the Assembly Rooms’ fire in 2014, we moved into a marquee on the Market Place, and beyond! We’ve had concerts in The Old Bell Hotel, Derby Cathedral, and in various city centre locations.

We’ve had full and fantastic festivals, a festival weekender, an “At Home” version in lockdown, another as part of the Derby Market Place project. For 2023 we needed to re-group and look at plans for the future – but we still be having a lot of fun in The Old Bell Hotel and Cathedral Quarter! – so much so, that we’re back for more this year!

Derby Folk Weekend is a partnership between Bob On Arts, FOLK3D and Furthest From The Sea. It is supported by Derby City Council, through Derby LIVE and sponsored by Cathedral Quarter Derby. Our media sponsor is RNR Magazine
