The Old Bell Hotel is a 375 year old former coaching inn which has been fabulously restored – and is run by an amazing team of people.
With its mixture of fine local cask ales and the largest selection of whisky in the city, the Tudor Bar takes you back to another era and will be home to music sessions throughout the weekend. It will be open all weekend, and be the place to go for music sessions – led by others, or started yourself!
The Ballroom will house the Friday and Saturday evening ticketed events, as well as a ticketed “Wake Up Ceilidh Bop” on Sunday lunchtime. During the day on Saturday, and after the ceilidh on Sunday, Furthest From The Sea will be hosting the free fringe events which are open to everyone, even without a ticket.
New for 2016 was the free fringe event – Folk in the Front Bar – in the Old Bell’s superb Tavern Bar at the front of the venue, with windows right onto the historic Sadlergate – and we’ll have some more acts in that space this year as we all loved it so much!
