Food and Drink

Being located right in the centre of Derby means that there are lots of  food choices right on hand – cafés, bars, restaurants, chip shops and more! As well as that, a small selection of festival specific caterers will be on-site in the Market Place.

Real Ale (and most other beverages if you prefer) will be served from bars located next to the City Marquee, and also from the Guildhall Theatre, with a delicious selection of ales (including a gorgeous Festival Ale!) from Thornbridge Brewery.

Thornbridge are a fabulous brewery based in the North of Derbyshire, and have supported the festival for several years – we think they’re fabulous, and are very grateful for their support.

The Old Bell Hotel features a variety of bars, all with a great selection of beers (and single malt if that’s your thing!) – The Tudor Bar is open to all, with the former being our main session venue.

This year, we’re delighted that the Guildhall Theatre’s neighbours, The Acropolis Cafe, have agreed to stay open much later than usual in order to keep you all served with some great meals!

They have up to 120 seats, including 40 outside, so you should find a table whatever the weather.  The Acropolis has been in family ownership since 1976, and we’ve always had great food and service from Kevin and the team… please pay them a visit!

This year, they will be open from 7.30am until around 8pm on Friday and Saturday, and from 9.30am until 6.30pm on Sunday.
